  3. Gaining informative conservation resources such as books and brochures for future reference.

  4. Taking thousands of high quality photographs for use in producing postcards, informational brochures and the website for KCC's use.

  5. Giving our host new IT equipment (1 Laptop, 1 computer, 1 printer, 1 projector and 1 digital camera) to aid them in their capacity to come up with more informational resources on ecotourism in Yuksam.

  6. Refinement of present organization website for KCC. The website seeks to portray Yuksam as a ecotourism destination through its emphasis on KCC’s conservation efforts and the need for responsible trekking, appreciation and preservation.

  7. Guiding and teaching them the use of IT equipment through a computer hardware and software appreciation course.

Learning

  2. Developing appreciation, respect and sensitivity for a foreign culture.

  3. Coping with different working styles of other project members as well as the host organization.

  4. Conflict solving when the group went through storming sessions.

  5. Getting to know the dignified conservation work of the KCC and in the process, opening up their eyes to conservation.

  6. Being immersed in the culture and traditions of Yuksam through field trips, homestays and cultural exchange programmes

  7. School children with their earnestness and hunger for knowledge and learning heartens the members

  8. Cooking/Washing/ Camping in the cold for about two weeks were first time experiences for many. Members had to plan rotating schedules, plan the food menu, cook for a mass and also tolerate being taken out of the comforts of home.

  9. Trekking was a refreshing experience to some yet it tested the endurance, ruggedness and perserverance of many.

  10. The activities have motivated some to take up positions in the Service Learning Club, to lead future projects, to develop interest in conservation and to volunteer their service to local conservation organizations.
